The forest industry in Western Europe and North America is today plagued by lack of profit due to the major production benefits seen in the developing countries. The trend seen within the Western European and North American forest industry is that it is moving towards bigger and more effective production sites and specialized products. The challenges in the developing countries are mainly to administer and maintain their investments and to commission projects in a cost effective way.
